Primarily used at the core layer of a metropolitan transmission
network; can also be used to provide Packet Transport Network (PTN)
aggregation services.
Huawei’s OptiX PTN 3900 handles CES, ATM, Ethernet, IP over PW, and
L3 VPN services. Supporting 40 GE interfaces, the system has a
distributed architecture with separate control and forwarding
planes. 1+1 redundancy protects the main control boards,
cross-connect boards, and power supply modules.
With capacity up to 640 Gbit/s, the PTN 3900 offers a highly
reliable, high-capacity platform for core or aggregation use.
