Intelligent Fiber Distribution Terminal, is a product that Huawei develops for the intelligent optical distribution network (iODN) solution. It connects to distribution cables in the uplink and to drop cables in the downlink. The iFDT inherits the functions, such as splicing, splitting, and distributing optical fibers, of a traditional FDT. By communicating with the U2000 ODN NMS, the element management system (EMS), over the iField, the iFDT intelligently manages optical fibers and provides operation instructions.
