OptiX PTN 3900 Transmission Systems

Primarily used at the core layer of a metropolitan transmission network; can also be used to provide Packet Transport Network (PTN) aggregation services.

Huawei’s OptiX PTN 3900 handles CES, ATM, Ethernet, IP over PW, and L3 VPN services. Supporting 40 GE interfaces, the system has a distributed architecture with separate control and forwarding planes. 1+1 redundancy protects the main control boards, cross-connect boards, and power supply modules.

With capacity up to 640 Gbit/s, the PTN 3900 offers a highly reliable, high-capacity platform for core or aggregation use.

Optix PTN3900

3900 NEs are the new generation of multi-service chassis-shaped devices applicable to the aggregation layer on packet transport networks. 3900 NEs support 40GE bandwidth aggregation, adaptable to various application scenarios. They provide device- and network-level protection and reliably aggregate and forward traffic.

PTN 3900-8/3900: Supports 40GE interfaces. A PTN 3900-8 or 3900 NE meets the high-bandwidth aggregation requirement. A PTN 3900-8 or 3900 NE has a distributed architecture with the separate control and forwarding planes. The NE provides 1+1 redundancy protection for the main control boards, cross-connect boards, and power supply modules.
