It seems to me that modern platforms are still designed so that all clients can leave reviews, including the ones who didn’t like the service or result.

I trust reviews if I first of all trust the platform they are posted on. I have good experience with MyHomeQuote, where I found local gutter installation service near me. I like that each contractor has a profile with reviews, ratings, and work examples, which immediately gives you an idea of the quality you can expect.

I once went to a site where private handymen offer their services for renovations and more, and there are dozens of them. I’m serious. Of course, everyone only writes the best things about themselves. I’m sure a lot of the reviews are arranged with clients anyway. In short, I don’t trust this whole system at all and don’t want to end up with bad specialists.
