The EX40 can be used in three scenarios: multiplexing or demultiplexing of 40 channels of optical signals in the two-fiber bidirectional system, multiplexing and demultiplexing of 18/35 channels of optical signals synchronously in the single-fiber bidirectional system with optical amplifiers, and multiplexing and demultiplexing of 20/40 channels of optical signals synchronously in the single-fiber bidirectional system without optical amplifiers.
